PMOS speak for 'Who knows? I certainly don't. Anyway, until all the cheques are in we can't draw up the list.'

Anyine know what the going rates are? I did fancy myself as a Viscount (no, not the biscuit) or at the very least an Earl.

Still I suppose all the decent titles will have been snapped up by the high bidders. Maybe I'll have to get down to the post-christmas sales to see if there are any bargains there.

Out here in cyberworld people are wondering if the late John Lennon could be posthumously awarded a peerage or an earldom or something. As well as laying down his life for peace, heroin and the people of Liverpool the late fabster was also a greedy, limelight-seeking, unprincipled, emotionally troubled scouser with too many teeth married to a posturing, egomaniacal control freak with no talent for anything.

Might I be the first to press John's case for ennoblement with Mr and Mrs Blair who decide these things. For services to his first wife and child alone the much-missed moptop deserves recognition. Lord Lennon of Manhattan. Has a lovely, aspirational NewLabour ring to it, doncha think? Remember, in the end, the money you take far outweighs the money you make. I think Ringo Starr said that.
