Condoleezza Rice

Asked what could be expected from the Prime Minister’s meeting with Condoleezza Rice tomorrow, the PMOS said that meeting would cover the full range of foreign affairs as could be expected. Clearly it was also part of preparation both for President Bush’s visit to Europe next month and for Ms Rice’s own attendance at the Palestinian conference. It would be an important preparatory meeting. She would also meet the Foreign Secretary and they would hold a joint press conference.

  1. RE: Judge Sanford R. Steckler
    Harrison County Court
    Biloxi, Mississippi

I have my doubts anyone will read and/or react to this, but it comes from the heart of a mother of a 20-year Navy retiree….
and sometimes it does pay to be a "squeaky wheel" so-to-speak.

This correspondence is forwarded to whom it may concern in an attempt to assist my son
who next month will have served in your United States Navy for 20 years keeping you safe from harms way and assisting in allowing you to retain your freedom.

Your above-named Judge of Harrison County during my son’s first appearance in his court room to obtain a divorce, was handed a sentence of paying his recently-separated wife $1,000 monthly until divorce was granted.

My husband and I attended his second court proceedings (2/7/05) as I could not imagine a judge imposing such an amount based on his military salary, especially in light of his child support in the amount of $400.00 for his only son. And, what was he supposed to live on, as stated so well by Zel Miller…. "Spit balls?"

During this second court appearance, your above-named Judge of Harrison County imposed a continued $1,000 monthly allowance to his now 2-year separated wife (she resides in Texas) of whom he was married only four years.
AND…. he saw no reason to grant a divorce! Therefore, he expects my son to pay until divorced, but he will not grant a divorce.
    * I have spoken with numerous attorneys
since that time period with the
consensus of the group’s advice being:
    1. Attempt to move your court
case out of the State of
    Mississippi.
    2. If this is impossible, hire a new attorney.

Please think of the following prior to assessing Judge Steckler’s ruling…

    1. Anyone realize the salaries of your
    military personnel?
    2. Have any of you since the age of
20 years relocated all of your life
away from your family, friends, etc.?
    3. Ever slept in a bunk for months at a
time with hardly any space for your
    personal belongings?

This list could be endless, but I doubt this will be given recognition, so I will pause.

AND, why enlist in The United States Military? Money? Fame? A Title? NO… they enlist because of many different factors, but they stay in the military for a 20-year time period because they want to serve their county. AND, you and I reap the rewards of their continued service! Our freedom!

In summary, I know life is not always fair… I am age 60, but my years have made me wise and compassionate to our men in uniform. After noting your web site, I had to make an effort to have someone, anyone tell me why a person in the military could ever be treated in this manner. Yes, I am a mother of a son in the US Navy and so very proud, not only of him, but each and every one of our military personnel. I would like to hear from just one person in this regard.

Thanking you in advance for your time,

  2. what was the reason for obtaining a divorce?I also
had misfortune of having asked judge steckler for a divorce on the grounds of cruel and inhumane treatment,he turned it around gave my ex the house cars money business and our 1 1/2 yr old daughter whom i have not laid eyes on since, you see his family has money and tom teel along with jn randall did not make for a just court,jn quit as my atty and judge steckler heard the case without my knowledge and never even hearing my side of things, have you considered that it may not be Mississippi`s system but it`s judges that are allowing such injustices,I think they have a God complex,he took the child God gave me and never even had to answer my question of why.good luck to you and your son and if she would take his money and leave him to struggle then it will not be long before she gives the court a good reason to grant your son a divorce.

  4. I too had the misfortune of standing in front of Judge Steckler 2 years ago.
And couldnt believe what was about to happen.
But after doing some investigating on this Judge it all makes since now.
I took my ex back to court for a modification in child support, he was paying $100.00 per child a month that was ordered 13years ago. I never received and increase for 13 years. At the time I filed for the modifiction I had 2 living at home one 18 and 14 years old.
My ex sueded me for custody to try to get out of paying the extra. My ex was always given unlimited visitations and never exercised them.
He was never kept from seeing the boy’s at any time. He was never made to pay any extra for the children in medical, dential, school supplies or cloths.
When we went to court Judge Steckler gave my ex full custody of my 14 year old, it didnt matter what my 14 year old had to say he didnt listen to what he wanted at all. In the state of Mississippi a child at age 14 has the right to choose given maturity of the child. Steckler tryed to justify his decision based on the fact I didnt attend church on a regular bases and worked in the casino business for the past 13 years to support my children.
He took a 14 year old and places him in a difficult situation. I was also ordered to parenting classes which I attended. My ex and his wife was ordered also and never attended.
I did all the hard part of raising my children, for 13 years working and never on welfare.
I had to appeal the decision and Steckler stepted down due to an exportate communication.
Thank GOD, I then had another Judge, it took me 2 years to regain my full custody back and did get an increase in child support after all, this cost me losts of money in attorney fees and court fees, which at the time I couldnt afford being a single mother.
Steckler had no grounds to give my ex full custody, he discriminated against me being a single mother working in the casino business and not going to church on a regular bases, which was all said in court. He concluded the child need to spend more time with his Father, and that was his reason to give him full custody.
I filed a complaint to the State of Mississippi to have an investigation done on my case, in hopes something will be done. I feel Judge Steckler from the time we entered in the court room already has is mind made up.

  6. I have been abused by Sandy Steckler. He has accepted bribes in my trial. I have witnesses to the admission of Bribery. He helped steal over $150,000.00 from me. I have the FBI looking into the case and will not stop until Cono Caranna, Margaret Alfonso and Sandy Steckler have been prosecuted for their crimes. I have had to live with abuse of my children as well as threats against my life and the lives of my children. These people belong in Prison and not on the bench.

  9. Sorry to Hear about you plight. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in the heartaches that you are going through. I’ve been before nearly every judge in the system and several lawyers. I believe I have the thickest file in Stone County history. In fact my file is two full folders thick and was for many years filed between the front of the drawer and the "A" folder in Stone County.
I can testify that I never found any justice in the whole system. One of my lawyers told me quote "If you came to the courts for justice..you’re looking in the wrong place."

  10. MY name is tiffany mendoza. i am 18 yrs old and have been in the middle of a custody battle for 2 yrs with judge steckler. it is just me and my sister( age 16). neither of us want to live with our father because of the fact that he abuses us physically and mentally. having proof of this and statements from both my sister and i. this judge has turned this whole thing around on me, my mom, and sister. he says we are uncontrollable children and my mom is an unfit mother because she has been married 4 times.Thats irrelevant. so to the person who posted that they have the FBI investigating him, i need a number to the FBI as well so they can hear my complaint also.

  11. I too have been harmed by Judge Steckler on several occasions. I wish more people would publicly voice their injustices concerning Judge Steckler. While I was waiting in court for my own injustice to take place, I witnessed other injustices taking place. The man has an absolute GOD complex and does not do what makes common sense or is right, but what he personally feels like doing. I have never seen a judge that rules on “gut” instincts when solid facts are available. There is no rime or reason to it and it is not even consistent. He makes decisions without fact, basis or merit and will not give you a chance to speak in court if he thinks you will say something against what he has already decided. He drones on and on like you are an idiot or something, but in reality he does not want you to be able to speak and be heard ON THE COURT RECORD. He clearly has his favorite attorneys and you better hope you hire one of them. Spend a few days in his courtroom and you will see for yourself. How this has been allowed to continue for this many years is beyond belief! Is there no single person or organization that can take this matter on? I have heard of people taking their cases to the FBI, talk of corruption, etc., but the man just persists like a weed. He has consistent ex parte communications and it is so widely known that attorneys themselves joke in the court halls about it. The Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution means nothing to Judge Steckler. Even if you receive Due Process of attending a hearing, it’s totally useless if you can’t be heard or properly represented by an attorney he personally dislikes. So many complaints can’t be wrong. There is obviously something improper Judge Steckler is doing. All of these people are not just merely complaining because they didn’t get their way. All people want is to be treated fairly. He makes many decisions based on religion, race, occupation, place of birth (in the case of Northerners), and many other issues that he personally dislikes, but have nothing to do with facts or merits of the case. If you think you are the only one that has not been treated fairly by Judge Steckler, spend some time in his courtroom. Most hearings are open to the public, but you will witness that when things get tough he will bring the attorneys into his chambers away from the court reporter to discuss the case OFF THE COURT RECORD. Isn’t it about time for you to retire Judge Steckler? I know it’s time that people in Mississippi be treated fairly without your biased rulings. Do the legal system of the United States and Mississippi a favor. Do the right thing justice. Retire.

  12. My apologies for uprooting a dead thread. I am currently in a divorce battle with a hearing 2 months away and Judge Stecker presiding. I was hoping that anyone involved in any of his cases could give some insight as to what I may be facing as well as the final outcome of the cases. Thank you.

  18. So, when I walk in the court Judge Steckler claims that I am not on his docket but to come right in and sit down.. ? Did he review my case? What is going on?

Next, he is asked by my attorney if he should recuse himself, due to my husband a lawyer who knows him, but he refuses.

My husband does not show up at court or turn in financial records, contempt, yet Judge Steckler does not charge him with contempt.

Finally Judge Steckler says he is giving me $500 in seperate support, a twenty year relationship?

Although I explained to Judge Steckler there was no way I could maintain expenses while we work through the legal system and also without transportation but he didn’t care.

So, something appeared peculiar about the experience and I wasted a retainer fee.

At least in my case, it appears Judge Steckler will leave someone eligible for government assistance during transition when money to avoid that option is available.

I agree with other comments. There is something wrong with this picture.

  19. We need to raise awareness about him. Do something, make a petition. He has his morals all messed up. He takes kids from moms who are legally married but live with a boyfriend for a long time and gives them back to the parent who is neglectful parent who also endangers the child! After proof! But the mother is bad because of morals and has never got arrested nor does drugs nor alcohol. Please help me raise awareness for this crookedness

recent comment…. Maybe it would be Prudent to pool all the resources, band together and Challenge his ability to form and make unbiased and impartial decisions……rulings….judgements. Clearly his mind is not that of a competent person. I challenge his Cognizance !!

  22. I just had my 12 year old son taken away from me and given to my ex and his wife. He heard testimony of a 20 year old girl who used to be friends with my daughter. The girl lied and told Steckler that I gave her and my daughter alcohol when they were young. Also that I left them and my young son alone and they had no idea where I was. She also told him I was sleeping with my boyfriend in the house with all of them. She told him I told her to lie and that I bad mouthed my ex to the kids. She had no evidence of any of this, no dates, just her word. She had been arrested for meth and is very close to my ex and his new wife. My ex played the super religious card and won his sympathy.
I had done nothing wrong and didn’t even get to testify and he took him away!! I was in shock and still am! He said my sons grades had deteriorated, he is an honor roll student.
He belittled me and made me feel like trash but never heard what I had to say! Something is very wrong!!
