Asked about the meeting with Taoiseach, the PMOS informed journalists that the Chief Constable of Northern Ireland and his opposite number in the Garda would give the two Prime Ministers an update into the investigation of the robbery and overall security situation. They would also update on the separate meetings they’ve had with Sinn Fein and the other parties. Asked if there would be some response from the Heads of Government, given that Sinn Fein rejected the interpretations, the PMOS said that both the Prime Minister, after his meeting with Sinn Fein, and the Taoisech after his, had reiterated their views that the IRA was responsible. The fact remained that the IRA carried out the robbery. Briefing took place at 11:00 | Search for related news Original PMOS briefings are © Crown Copyright.
