Asked for further information about the article in the Financial Times regarding incapacity benefit, the Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) repeated what the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman had said earlier that it was inaccurate. Yes, as a previous worker in benefits related field, there is immense abuse of the system though more so with Incapacity Benefit but also with other disability benefits. The system needs to be looked seriously because as a tax payer
