Chancellor of the Exchequer/Euro

Asked if the Prime Minister continued to deny that he would have considered stepping down if the Chancellor had been more positive about the Euro, the PMOS said yes.

Asked if the reports in the five tests had been re-written to make it seem as if the door was still ajar, the PMOS said that we had not had a referendum on the Euro, the five tests were still in place and were being observed. As the Prime Minister had repeatedly observed, what mattered most was the economy and the economic tests.
