Sea Anglers

Asked for a reaction to today’s Telegraph report suggesting that the Government was proposing to force sea anglers to buy a £22 permit in order to continue to participate in the sport, the Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) told journalists that she had had a bet on with a press office colleague that the issue would not be raised at this morning’s briefing. Oh well, wrong-footed again. As she understood it, no decisions had been taken at this stage. However, a review relating to marine fisheries and environmental enforcement was currently underway and the issue had been raised in that context.

  1. well, as we all know, it WILL happen – because money will change hands. That’s all this government knows, thinking up schemes to wring more money out of the electorate. I’m not saying it’s a bad or good idea – I haven’t thought that far, and you can be sure the government haven’t either. All they know, and all they are interested in, is the bunce at the end of it.

  2. It would be in keeping with present day thinking to charge people money to go out and get some fresh air and excise instead of sitting at home in a arm chair getting hardening of the arteries and then adding millions to the N.H.S.bill and untold misery to there family`s and themselves.NICE ONE GOVERMENT.
