Asked for the Prime Minister s view on the suggestions made by the Committee for Climate Change that airfares would have to go up, the PMS said that it was best to talk to the Department of Energy and Climate Change for details, but the advice given by the committee today was important. It was important to bear in mind that we had taken action on airport passenger tax, which was set out in the Pre Budget Report and the Budget. Also, Copenhagen was coming up so this would continue to be a high profile policy.
