Corus
« Economy | Back to most recent briefing | Gaza Appeal »
Asked for the Prime Minister s view on the job losses at steelmaker Corus, the PMS said that it was a matter of great regret that Corus had had to take decisions to make workers redundant. BERR, the Regional Development Agency (RDA) and Job Centre Plus would do all they could to support the company and the redundant workers at this difficult time.
Put that a local MP had complained about electricity companies keeping their wholesale prices high and the effect that had on businesses like Corus, the PMS said that we had seen wholesale energy prices come down and we expected to see that pass through to both business and household customers.
