Asked if the Prime Minister had a view on the ban of short selling, the PMS said that that was a matter for the Financial Services Authority.
Asked if the Prime Minister had a view on the Northern Rock pay bonuses, the PMS said that Northern Rock had repaid the Government its debts at a faster rate than originally planned. However, operational decisions such as bonuses were a matter for Northern Rock.
